Laurel Loxam was born and raised in Powell River, BC. After graduating high school in 2003 she moved to Nanaimo, B.C where she attended Vancouver Island University and earned her Bachelor of Tourism and Recreation Management. From Nanaimo she made her way Victoria where she worked as the Events and Promotions Coordinator for The Westin Bear Mountain Resort. She spent some time in the Real Estate Department towards the year end of her time at Bear Mountain Resort and that is where she gained the interest in becoming a Mortgage Broker. After earning her license in 2009, Laurel is now not only a broker but an energetic member in the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, the Young Entrepreneur Society, and other various networking groups throughout Victoria.
